COMPANION CATS FOR SENIORS

Many senior citizens would benefit from the company of a pet but avoid animal companionship because of the thought "what would happen to my pet if something happens to me" or the cost of pet ownership.

HEART’s “Companion Cats for Seniors” program allows qualified seniors to permanently foster a "rescued" senior cat. Both senior and cat will benefit from a loving friend. The pet is returned to HEART should the senior become unable to care for it. For seniors who are unable to get out and about, HEART can provide transportation to the vet as needed. HEART will pay for the foster cat’s annual veterinarian visits, vaccines and other medical needs.

We have many wonderful rescued senior cats just waiting for the purrfect home and someone to love. If you know a senior citizen who is interested in fostering a companion cat, please call us at (716) 821-1915 and leave a message for our Cat Adoption Coordinator on Line 2.
